I am a licensed professional counselor in North Carolina (LCMHC- 19928 and South Carolina (LPC- 5778). While I have experience working with a variety of issues, I am especially passionate about helping women struggling with anxiety have a safe place to process and gain skills.
My approach is eclectic to use what is most beneficial for each individual client, but is mainly based on cognitive behavioral therapy, which looks at how negative thinking and unhelpful behavioral patterns impact our emotions. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also use play therapy and art techniques with young children to help them express their emotions and find healing.
I graduated from Columbia International University in Columbia, SC with my masters in counseling. I began seeing clients in 2012 at a group private practice in Columbia, SC. In 2014 I moved to Charlotte and worked at an agency seeing children, teens, and adults in an outpatient setting. In 2018 I opened my private practice to continue serving clients in SC and NC.
